This essay is divided into two parts, the first part is briefly talk about the negative effects caused by serious air pollution in terms of sustainable development, and the second part is a detailed discussion of the suggested solutions. The effects caused by air pollution can be discussed in terms of sustainable development with three aspects which are inter-related, inter-dependence and equally balanced, and these aspects are environmental, social and economic aspects. In terms of the environmental aspect, the worsening air quality will fasten the greenhouse effect with a rise in temperature and contributing to global warming. In terms of the social aspect, â€Å"the World Health Organization estimates that every year, 2.4 million people die from causes associated with air pollution† (Sierra-Vargas Teran,2012, p.1031). It shows how air pollution causing health impacts on human. The worsening air quality increases the risk of having â€Å"respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, or cancers† (Deguen et al. 2012), and according to Sierra-Vargas and Teran (2012), people who are active outdoors, people with diseases and elderly are at higher health risk. Therefore, the government mainly puts emphasis on the economic development, but neglected the importance of environmental conservation, in other words, the government weighted the economic development over the environmental conservation, and thus resulting in environmental destructions during the process of economic development in Hong Kong. However, it is hard to make equal balance between the economic development and the environmental conservation, and the co-existence of both aspects may be in a low possibility, because one aspect has to make scarification when the other one exists. Another solution is promoting the extensive use of renewable power instead of non-renewable power so as to change to a cleaner way for power generation, such solar power and wind power. However, there are two difficulties in using landfill gases and adoption of renewable power resources. The first hurdle is a great amount of government expenditure is required for the construction or installation of the specific power plants, like the regular maintenance of the power plants. Besides, the opposition from environmental protection groups may also rise because this power generation method is not classified as renewable power. If the opposition raise, it is better to take the second solution instead of both solutions in order to avoid social conflicts based on the problem mentioned. In terms of the vehicles, the government should work together with two bus companies to carry out the discussion about the expansion of the service area and increase the service provided to the public. The HKSAR government can use economic incentives or make investments to increase the operating capital of two bus companies. With better bus services provided, the willingness of people to take public transportation to school or to work will be increased and thus less energy is used and less pollutants are emitted into the atmosphere. In John Sayles's Lone Star and Zora Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God, bicultural characters negatively stereotype members of their own "inferior" or "less advantaged" background in order to identify themselves with their more powerful culture. The artists ultimately illustrate, however, that choosing sides is an unnatural option and that mixed heritages can have their own advantages. People of more than one culture often have trouble fitting into either; as Pat Mora suggests in her poem "Sonrisas," they "live in a doorway / between two rooms"[Mora]. For example, in Lone Star, Mercedes, who was born in Mexico but resides in Texas, lives up to Mora's description of a "legal alien"--someone who is seen as "an American to Mexicans / A Mexican to Americans"[Mora]. She laments that although she has "white folks' features in [her] face...[she is still] lumped in wid all de rest [of the African-Americans]"[Hurston, p.211] by Whites, with whom she tries to be identified. Sayles suggests that she will have better relationships with her daughter and grandson as a reward for her recently expanded perceptions. It’s since become the largest literary celebration in the world with poets, schools, publishers, libraries, booksellers, and countless others celebrating poetry’s legacy and impact on our culture. From attending a poetry reading to simply writing a poem yourself, there are tons of different ways to get involved and show your support. We’ve come up with ten easy ways in which you can contribute to the celebration. Lets have a look. 1. Read poetry We know this seems like a no-brainer, but during National Poetry Month, why not actually read some poetry? If you’re feeling so inspired, maybe try reading a poem a day. From the Internet, local libraries, bookstores, and perhaps even your personal bookshelf there is an abundance of resources to easily obtain in order to read more poetry. Websites like OwlEyes.org,  Poets.org,  and  Poems.com are great places to get your daily poetry fix. You can even sign up for poetry newsletters or a Poem-A-Day email to have poetry delivered directly to you. 2. Write poetry There’s no denying that writing poetry can seem intimidating. Not all of us possess a natural eloquence like Keats, but that doesn’t mean we have to abandon the craft. Find a poem or determine a couple of lines that you want to share and then translate it onto a clear piece of sidewalk. Take advantage of different colors and add some artistic flourishes to attract attention to your work. Donate If you’re feeling generous, you can always make a donation to the Academy of American Poets. Its only with the support of individual contributors that the Academy of American Poets is able to produce free, innovative programs and publications that encourage the reading and teaching of poetry. Donations also help the distribution of over 100,000 National Poetry Month posters to schools, libraries, and bookstores to encourage the celebration and appreciation of poetry this month. You can also order a free poster until mid-April to help spread awareness of the poetic celebration. 10. Look out for special events by the Academy of American Poets Each year, the Academy of American Poets hosts a gala called Poetry the Creative Mind to celebrate poetry’s important place in our culture. The event features leading and legendary actors, dancers, artists, musicians, and public figures on one stage, sharing their favorite poems. The event benefits the K-12 Education Program of the Academy of American Poets, including resources for teachers on Poets.org, the Dear Poet project, and materials created and distributed to 100,000 libraries and classrooms for National Poetry Month. However, the process by which Franco secured political and economic control over the country, and the process by which he lost it (and which saw the return of constitutional monarchy in Spain) is a very interesting one, and the subject of this essay. Communists attacked churches and clergymen, disrupting the traditional ways of life, while the Fascists attacked workers and members of unions they suspected of having Communist sympathies. Although Franco had won a victory, Spain was still terribly split between both sides. The violence had opened an almost irreparable wound. A statesmen would have seen this and in the best interests of his country tried to heal the divide between these two sides. But Franco had a much more brutal vision for his country—one where he dominated the cultural, economic, and political life of Spain completely.
